styles of texts in House Of Leaves
In this novel I found it interesting that the author kept in the slashed out lines in the novel. The fact that the lines were not omitted from the book was strange to me cause when authors do not want the readers to read something they omit it. It was like the author just wants the reader tokeep guessing what the slashed out lines mean and if they really belong in the story. When a line was crossed out it drew my eye to it so maybe that was the point in keeping those thoughts. The writer is very unique that they kept their thoughts and just crossed them out in the novel instead of just getting rid of them.

While I was reading, the crossed lines did draw my attention until I got tired of reading the crossed words. I agree with you that the author used our curiosity so that the readers will pay more attention on the slashed lines and explore further more about the contents.
