songs of innocence and of experience

the two books are combined in one edition. the two parts talked about the comparison and contrast between innocence and experience, childhood and adulthood. the innocent world of children and sinful world with adults. there are similar peoms or te same titled poems in each part of the book. even though some has the same title, they have totally different perspectives of seeing the world and one could be talking about love and happiness and the other would involve in sin, sadness, or death.

  1. Despite the difference of the poems in these two parts of the book, I really like the contrast between the pictures that appear to relate to each other. For instance, on the plate 39, The Sick Rose, and the picture on plate 25,Infant Joy. They both portray roses, but they illustrate distinct artistic conceptions. The one on the plate 25 drops a hint of sin and the one on the plate 39 is like a result from the former suggestion.

  2. I agree with Ariel's point that although the drawings all have trees and sometimes flowers and angels and people that, he uses differnt colors and placement to change the mood of the drawing. The drawings alothough they have similar things in the drawings, the mood for each are different.
