Maus II
As I continue to read Maus II, I keep getting the feeling that Vladek has trouble asking directly for help when he needs it. He probably grew so accustomed to having to exchange goods for assistance during the Holocaust, he has come to expect everthing, especially favors, to come at a cost. This would explain why he is always happy to get 'free' items, such as the matches from the hotel. It would also explain why he feels the need to trick Art and his wife into staying with him during the summer. Possibly, he feels that they would not stay if he asked for help, so instead he tells them that the cabin is already payed for and tells them that staying would be like a vacation.

I feel the things Vladeck did wasn't so bad. It's a good to save everything and espacially those he saved are all going to be Artie's, then why he is so mad at his dad to save things. And try to understand him, if can't, still don't be so mean and outrageous. he is still his dad, and every time Artie got mad, Vladeck did not been mad at him after Artie sweared.
