Final Post :(

On the first day of class, we were asked what exactly the term 'multimedia' meant.  Frankly, we had no idea.  We've learned so much since then, and seen so many different examples and mediums of literature, that we can, at the very least, each safely say that we have a full understanding of the concept.  Multimedia is literally the combination of various types of media in order to form one story. That being said, the most interesting thing about multimedia as a sort of 'genre' is that it can take virtually every form.  In this class, we have seen stories that are told through the use of simple text, as well as pictures and videos, and can also be interactive (the outcome of which can be determined by the reader), a combination of all three, or something entirely different which contains none of these factors.
Possibly the best part of this class was being able to create different forms of multimedia throughout the year. We were given completely free rein, and designed everything from facebook pages for fictional characters to choose-your-own-adventure stories. Multimedia literature as a concept is completely without limitations, and allows for infinite ingenuity and creativity.  The end result is not simply a conglomeration of different elements, details, and features, but one that contains a story at its heart.
